 Today's Weather Trivia:

7 April 1898: Winds blew down a trestle bridge on the St. Mary's River near Crowsnest, AB. Strong southwesterlies shook the bridge as 14 workers put the final touches on the 20-m-high span; then, without warning, an extra-strong gust struck it end on and blew it over. Some of the men jumped 4 m to safety on the banks of the coulee, but others fell with the bridge, 16 m or more. Four men died.  -Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada
