A Few Flurries...

The above is the view from my front den window at publication time.

The precipitation we had yesterday began as wet snow but quickly changed to rain here on the coast. The rainfall was quite heavy by times and the wind was quite strong as well.It was,as some of the older folks like to refer to such events, somewhat of a tempest.Thankfully,I was 'chained ' to my work bench for the day and did not have to venture out in it.
Temps rose to +7°C and held there for most of the day.All of the precipitation ended by late afternoon and the evening was pleasant at a mild +3 with calm winds and clear skies. Thanks to the rain and mild temps we now have less snow than we started yesterday with.It was also a lot warmer than last year....check my 2007 Weather Underground blog out.The link is near the bottom of this blog.
Overnight the temps dropped to a little below freezing and we may see a few flurries here today.
The temp is expected to take a dramatic drop Sunday night and remain cold for the next few days.

Storm On The Way

The above is the view at publication time.

Yesterday was a nice day here on the south shore. We had lots of sun and it was warm enough in the direct sunlight to melt the cement-like ice off of my back steps.Unfortunately,I was too busy inside to be outside enjoying it.
The evening was relatively calm, just a slight breeze from the SW,with the temp near -5°C.
That was a 'weather breather' because today will be offering up a different scenario.
So far this morning there isn't any precip in the air here but that will be changing as the day progresses. The long range Intellicast(link below) radar is showing lots of weather moving our way from the US east coast.Another couple of hours and it should be here.
