The mild weather continues here and the snow is gradually melting.Yesterday’s high temp reached to near +7°C here and stayed well above freezing through the evening and overnight.We will see more melting again today with mild temps and showers.A couple of days of inclement weather are on the way to start next week but temps will generally be above freezing.Hopefully this trend will continue and the snow will soon be history.

We had a few showers here yesterday and mild temps in the +5°C range.Clearing began late in the day but it was still generally overcast through the evening.Temps were only down to near the freezing point overnight.The mild weather is expected to stay with us well into next week and there is no real stormy weather expected.

Yesterday was a cleanup day here after the snow ended in the mid-morning.Snowfall amounts were in the 20 to 30cm range in this area.The snow was quite wet and heavy and caused some power failures throughout the area.Temps rose to near +4°C in the afternoon and some of the mess melted away but there is still plenty left.Temps are expected to stay mild into next week but the sky will be generally overcast.

It wasn’t a bad day here yesterday,the high on my thermometer was +6.5°C and there was a fair bit of sunshine,and then in the early evening the snow started.The snow rate increased through the evening and was quite heavy by midnight.So far we have about 10cms down,maybe more,and it is still snowing.All schools are canceled and the street here doesn’t look too good for traveling at the present time.

The following snowfall warning was issued earlier this morning:

‘A low pressure system centered just east of Halifax will slowly approach Cape Breton today and will stall just northeast of Cape Breton tonight. Snow at times heavy along with local blowing snow can be expected for all regions early this morning with the snow expected to diminish in intensity later this morning. Total snowfall amounts from this system are expected to be in the 15 to 20 cm range.’

Liverpool,NS - A little snow on the way

Yesterday was another fairly mild day here on the South Shore with the afternoon temps reaching 3.5°C on my thermometer.The evening was quiet and cool and overnight the temps dropped to a little below freezing.The wind was calm.

The forecast has been revised and a little snow is on the way for tonight and into tomorrow.There’s a good possibility of a change over to rain here on the coast as temps rise above freezing.

The temps weren’t very cold yesterday but there was some wind and the air was damp making it feel colder.The actual temp reached to +1°C in the afternoon.There was very little change in the temps through the evening and overnight.We are once again expecting flurries today although we did not see any of them yesterday as forecast.Snow is a possibility for tomorrow but only a small amount is expected.

Yesterday was fairly nice here with sunshine and afternoon temps reaching to +6°C.Some clouds moved into the area in the evening and temps dropped to a little below freezing.The coming week look like it will be cloudy with some precip in the form of rain and snow.We may see some small amounts of accumulation on Monday but generally it will be a mild week.
