      It was another mild day here yesterday with afternoon highs reaching to +16°C.The sky was basically overcast for the day and fog moved onshore in the evening and remained there through the night.

      The record setting warmth is taking longer to get to our area than originally expected and we may not see the ‘hot’ weather until Monday.Even so,temps will be mild over the weekend and sunshine is expected later today.

3 April 2003: An Environment Canada scientist reported that air streams are dropping Asian toxins into BC's high alpine lakes and icefields. Arriving in cold climates, the poisons fall to earth, often attached to snowflakes. The largest concentrations occur in lakes fed by glaciers, which themselves have absorbed pollutants for up to 100 years. The Big Dipper is high in the northeast this evening. It appears to "pour" its contents toward the northern horizon and into the Little Dipper. This fainter dipper is anchored by Polaris, the North Star, which is at the end of the dipper's handle.

      Yesterday was another warm day here with afternoon temps near +14°C.There wasn’t a lot of sunshine but it was relatively dry until the evening.Some light drizzle and fog moved in mid-evening and persisted through the overnight hours.Temps were well above normal overnight and it’s very warm here this morning for this time of the year.

The warm weather will be with us for the foreseeable future with record breaking highs expected over the weekend.From today’s Chronicle Herald:’David Phillips of Environment Canada said Thursday that provinces from Ontario to Nova Scotia will experience record-breaking high temperatures throughout the coming long weekend.’…more.

      The mild weather is continuing here and I think we can safely say that winter is over.Yesterday was warm with temps near +14°C and fairly dry until late in the day.Some fog and a few showers moved into the area in the evening,temps were in the +10°C range for the overnight hours.

This morning it is damp with some drizzle and fog.It looks like we will have to endure this for today and tomorrow but record setting highs and sunny weather is expected for the Easter weekend.

1 April 1967: In nasty weather, a bush pilot landed his aircraft on a frozen lake 360 km from Yellowknife, NT. He huddled inside the plane for 58 days at below -50°C temperatures, only leaving it to stamp out SOS in the snow. He would lose 3 toes on his right foot and 2 on his left to amputation. Cor Caroli, the brightest star in Canes Venatici, is in the east as darkness falls, not far from the Big Dipper. The star's name means "the heart of Charles." Edmund Halley, the British astronomer royal, named it in honor of King Charles II.

Yesterday was a fairly nice day here with afternoon temps near +14°C.The rain held off until the evening and then there were some significant showers.Temps remained mild and dropped to only 8°C overnight.

It is currently raining here this morning with clearing expected by noon.It’s looking like there will be lots of sunshine and warm weather on the way starting tomorrow and through the weekend.

Even though it was overcast for the day,none of the forecast showers showed up here yesterday and it was decently warm with temps reaching to +8°C.The evening was mild with very little change from the daytime temp and they held through the overnight hours.

It is overcast here this morning and showers are a possibility today.Drier and clearer by the weekend with above normal temps on the way.

It was a fairly nice day here yesterday with temps in the seasonal range and plenty of sunshine.The sky remained clear in the evening and overnight but temps dropped to well below freezing.It’s quite cool and frosty this morning but should warm up to near seasonal values as the day progresses.A slow warmup will happen this week and it’s looking good for the Easter weekend.
