  • Today’s Weather Trivia:

23 March 2005: A nasty weather bomb struck Newfoundland overnight, bringing unpleasant weather. In the south there was wind and rain; farther north it snowed. Around St. Anthony, blowing and drifting snow reduced visibility to zero at times. St. Lawrence received 100 to 150 mm in a 36-hour period, the most in a decade. Many homes flooded basements. One unofficial report had 234 mm in one community over 1.5 days. Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada

Look for the Moon and Spica climbing into view by mid-evening. Spica, the brightest star of the constellation Virgo, is just to the left of the Moon as they rise.
