Yesterday started out pretty cold but turned into a nice day with above freezing temps and lots of sunshine.All remained clear through the evening but temps took quite a tumble and were in the minus double digits overnight.At least the wind was calm so there was no windchill.
Today is shaping up to be similar except some precip is expected in the area later today and into tomorrow.Temps are expected to be above 0° until Monday.

Yesterday wasn't too bad here for Feb but it was overcast and below freezing for most of the day.It began clearing in the early evening,making for a short but good view of the ISS,but along with that the temps began dropping.By mid-evening the sky was clear and temps were at -13°C where they stayed for the night.

Cleaning Up

Well we had quite a storm yesterday.There wasn't a lot of snow here but we had quite a few hours of ice pellets and freezing rain.So what we have now is a couple of cms of snow with a couple of cms of cement-like ice/snow on top and it's very heavy to shovel.
The roads are still snow covered and slippery in most areas except for in town.
Today will be a much better day and the rest of the week is not looking too bad...warming up on the weekend with rain on the way for Sunday.

Waiting....

Yesterday was a really nice day here with afternoon temps reaching +9°C.Not too bad for February and a lot more of the ice in my driveway and backyard has melted away.
However,right now we are waiting for a big storm to arrive.
Winter storm warning for Queens County continued Total snowfall amounts between 15 and 25 centimetres along with freezing rain an ice pellets today and tonight.
I don't think we will see those amounts here on the coast with the current temp above freezing and the long range radar is showing mostly rain.

It was cool and mostly cloudy yesterday with temps staying around 0°C for the most part.The temps held for the evening with a slight warm up in the late evening and then a small drop overnight.
Today is expected to be sunny and mild but a snowfall warning has been issued for tomorrow.It appears that it won't be too bad here on the coast but inland areas may get 25cms.

Yesterday was a little messy here with some light snow throughout the afternoon.There was only a little accumulation but it was enough to make for slippery driving conditions for a while.
The snow ended in the early evening and the temps dropped quite a bit.It is expected to begin to warm up soon and remain fairly mild for most of this week.
