Rainfall warning for 
Queens County continued


15 to 25 millimetres of rain expected by late this evening.

This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system developing over New England this morning. Will track northeastward across the Maritimes today to reach the Gulf of St Lawrence near midnight tonight.

Strong southeasterly winds gusting to 80 km/h will develop over most of the province today. Les Suetes winds will gust to 120 km/h this evening from Margaree Harbour to bay St. Lawrence.

In addition a rainfall warning is continued for most of the Atlantic coast today. Snow or ice pellets this morning will quickly change over to rain by noon time. The rain will end near midnight tonight. 15 to 25 millimeters of rain is expected by late this evening.

It’s been quite a rainy day here on the south shore.A good portion of the snow from Thursday night has washed away and the rest should be gone by tomorrow morning.

Currently it is +4.2C,wind is SE at 14.6 km/h and raining steadily.

 We wound up with about 10cms of snow here.Hard to measure though…some places were blown clear and other places it was piled to about 20 cms.

We are expecting above freezing temps today so some of it should melt or settle.Flurries are still a possibility today and then warmer with rain for tomorrow.

 

Today

Snow and local blowing snow ending this morning then cloudy with 30 percent chance of flurries. Becoming a mix of sun and cloud this afternoon. Amount 2 to 4 cm. Wind northeast 40 km/h gusting to 60 diminishing to 20 gusting to 40 this afternoon. High plus 1.

 

Tonight

Partly cloudy. Wind northeast 20 km/h becoming light this evening. Low minus 6.

 

Saturday

Cloudy. Snow beginning in the morning then changing to rain early in the afternoon. Snowfall amount 2 cm. Rainfall amount 10 to 15 mm. Fog patches developing late in the afternoon. Wind southeast 30 km/h increasing to 50 gusting to 80 in the afternoon then becoming south 50 gusting to 80 late in the evening. High 7.

 The snow has really picked up here over the past hour or so and is beginning to accumulate on the road sufaces.Winds are strong NE,temp is -4.8C,windchill is -10.8C

Up to 20 centimetres of snow is expected by Friday morning.

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system southeast of Cape Cod will track south of Nova Scotia tonight. Snow associated with this system began over Western Nova Scotia this morning and will spread eastward over most of the mainland tonight. The snow over southwesternmost regions will become heavy at times tonight and these regions are expected to receive between 20 and 30 centimetres of snow by Friday morning. Near 20 centimetres of snow is expected for southernmost areas of Lunenburg and Digby counties. There is also potential for snowfall amounts to reach warning criteria for southern parts of Halifax County where currently 10 to 15 centimetres is forecast.

A low pressure system developing south of Long Island this morning will track south of Nova Scotia tonight. Snow associated with this system will move into Southwestern Nova Scotia this morning and become heavy at times tonight. Southwesternmost regions are expected to receive between 20 to 30 centimetres of snow by Friday morning. Near 15 centimetres of snow is expected for southernmost areas of Lunenburg and Digby counties.
