Today’s Weather Trivia:
18 February 1980: As the New Brunswick election neared, the Tories expected to win a northern riding. Cars were gassed up, volunteers assembled, and drivers scheduled but, said the campaign manager, "the blizzard came and we didn't get hardly anyone out. It was a disaster." The Liberals had watched the weather and got their supporters out to advance polls. They won by 127 votes. --Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment
