            We had a very warm day here yesterday with the temps reaching the mid-20°Cs.Clouds began to move in in the late afternoon but temps remained warm throughout the evening.

            Rain is expected today along with the possibility of some thunder tonight.More showers are in the forecast for tomorrow,back to sunshine on Friday.

The 3 day forecast for our area issued by Environment Canada :

·         Today -- Cloudy. Periods of rain beginning early this afternoon. Amount 10 mm. Wind becoming southeast 20 km/h late this morning then east 40 gusting to 60 late this afternoon. High 11 except 15 inland. UV index 3 or moderate.

·         Tonight -- Periods of rain ending near midnight then cloudy with 60 percent chance of drizzle or showers. Risk of thundershowers this evening. Amount 10 to 15 mm. Fog patches developing this evening. Wind east 40 km/h gusting to 60 becoming south 20 this evening. Low 9.

·         Thursday -- Cloudy. 60 percent chance of drizzle or showers in the morning. Clearing late in the day. Fog patches dissipating late in the morning. Wind south 20 km/h becoming southwest 20 in the afternoon. High 13 except 16 inland.

·         Friday -- Sunny. Low 10. High 17.

Today's Weather Trivia:

May 19,1860: A tornado raced through Newmarket and Aurora, ON. Although there was no loss of life, the storm demolished scores of homes, blew fences hither and thither, and levelled acres of woodlots and orchards. The twister raised the water level in Lake Wilcox ,and tossed cattle and sheep into the air.
