Today's Weather Trivia:

May 22,1911: Around supper hour, gale-force winds began blowing on the west side of Medicine Hat, AB. The lumber yard was the big loser as the full force of the storm scattered lumber for 0.5 km. A large board flew through a hardware store window, wrecking a display of fancy lamps. The storm left one citizen with only an alarm clock-still running-which he found 10 m from where his house had stood. – Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada

Sky Events:

  • ISS(visible): No visible sightings for the next while because the ISS is passing over our area before sunset.
  • The planet Saturn appears near the Moon tonight. They are high in the south at sunset, with Saturn above the Moon. It looks like a bright golden star. – [Star Date Online]

  • AURORA (Northern Lights) WATCH: Low possibility of aurora activity tonight.
