The mild weather is continuing here with temps expected to be about 2 to 3 times the seasonal norm for the rest of the week (related article).Yesterday’s high was near +8°C but there was quite a lot of wind so it did feel somewhat cooler.The forecasted rain never happened here and it looks like most of it went to New England where they had high winds and torrential rain with flooding conditions extremely bad in Massachusetts.

Today we are expecting a warm and sunny day with much more to come throughout the rest of the week.The strong winds are also expected to diminish.

16 March 2007: While crossing Great Slave Lake (NT), 2 snowmobilers ran out of gas but managed to survive 2 nights on the ice in -30°C weather. The RCMP said the men ran out of fuel after their extra gas tank sprang a leak. They began walking to Yellowknife and were picked up 60 km from their destination.
