Today's weather trivia: 28 November
1917: Some of the coldest prewinter weather ever occurred in Yukon at the
end of November. Temperatures dipped to -40°C in a fierce, biting north
wind. Work horses were too sick for the gruelling tasks expected of them.
Three experienced northerners succumbed to the "Frost King"-their bodies
were found lying stark and stiff beside the trail.
