Today's weather trivia: 12 November
1972: St. John's, NL, residents spent Remembrance Day mending roofs and
bailing basements following a 3-day wind and rainstorm with 122 mm of rain.
In the Tapper's Cove area of Torbay, NL, locals blamed university students
for the damage. In the summer, the students had blocked off the main culvert
that carries water to the sea, leaving behind debris that prevented the
water from flowing through.
