Today’s Weather Trivia:

23 February 2005: An American suffered severe frostbite after trying to walk from North Dakota to Winnipeg, MB, to meet his Internet sweetheart in Quebec. Equipped with warm clothing, a compass, trail mix, and water, he soon lost his way. When found, he was incoherent and had covered only 7 km in 100 hours in -30.8°C weather. His hands were frozen solid and he was shedding clothing-a tell-tale sign of hypothermia.--Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada
