Yesterday started out quite wet and windy but clearing began near noon and
the afternoon was Spring-like.Clouds moved in late in the evening and there
were a few flurries.The flurries turned to periods of snow overnight.More
flurries are expected today but clearer weather is expected to end the week.

Today's Forecast:
Today..A few flurries ending early this morning then mainly cloudy
with 40 percent chance of flurries. Wind west 20 km/h gusting to 40.
High plus 1.
Tonight..Cloudy with 60 percent chance of flurries. Wind becoming
north 30 km/h gusting to 50 after midnight. Low minus 2.
Friday..A mix of sun and cloud. Clearing early in the evening. Wind
north 40 km/h gusting to 60 diminishing to 20 gusting to 40 in the
evening. High zero with temperature falling to minus 4 in the
afternoon.

Marine Forecast:
Gale warning in effect.
Wind west 10 to 15 knots increasing to west 25 early this morning
then veering to northwest 15 to 20 late this afternoon. Wind
increasing to north 25 to 35 overnight then becoming north 25 Friday
evening. A few flurries ending Friday morning. Visibility 1 mile or
less in flurries. Risk of freezing spray Friday evening.
Temperatures plus 1 falling to minus 4 Friday evening.

 Today's weather trivia: 21 February 2006: An Ottawa, ON, area woman pleaded
guilty to leaving a pint-sized pooch in her car last summer when the
temperature was 29°C (35°C with the humidex). She was given a 1-year
probation and fined $500. The Humane Society smashed her car window to
rescue the dog; inside, it was 48°C. The dog made a full recovery but would
have died without immediate attention.
