Yesterday was a very cold day with extremely low air temps and windchills.At
some point throughout the overnight hours the windchill values were very
close to -30C.The cold weather is expected to remain in place for the next 4
or 5 days but will ease some starting tomorrow and rise to more normal
values.

Today..A mix of sun and cloud with 30 percent chance of flurries.
Wind northwest 20 km/h gusting to 40. High minus 12. Cold wind chill
minus 25 this morning.
Tonight..Partly cloudy with 30 percent chance of flurries. Wind
northwest 20 km/h gusting to 40. Low minus 17. Cold wind chill
minus 27.
Friday..A mix of sun and cloud. Wind west 20 km/h. High minus 9. Cold
wind chill minus 27.

Freezing spray warning in effect.
Wind northwest 30 to 35 knots diminishing to northwest 25 late this
afternoon then increasing to northwest 30 to 35 overnight. Wind
diminishing to west 25 Friday evening. Flurries. Visibility 1 mile
or less in flurries. Freezing spray. Temperatures minus 13 to
minus 6 rising to minus 7 to minus 3 Friday evening.

 Today's weather trivia: 24 January 1924: A large icicle crashed 12 m from a
roof, fracturing the skull of a Montreal teen walking to work. He suffered a
fatal 10-cm gash to the top of his skull. In addition, he sustained a
fractured shin and a number of minor injuries. Police arrested the owner of
the house and charged him with violating a bylaw regarding cleaning snow and
ice from rooftops. He pleaded guilty and was fined $25 and costs.
