Today's Weather Trivia:
1840: Fires raged the woods across PEI destroying valuable timber and grain,
particularly in the Murray Harbour area. A schoolhouse burned to the ground.
On the road to Vernon River, fires destroyed several bridges, interrupting
travel for months. Several buildings and out-houses were reduced to ashes.
Fortunately rains helped extinguish the fires.
