Today's Weather Trivia:
1983: Thunderstorms spawned at least 8 tornadoes in Ontario, one rated an F4
that took a 36-km path, flattening farms and demolishing Reeces Corners
(dubbed the Reece's Pieces tornado). Twelve people were hurt and 50 homes
destroyed. "I was ... making pies and thinking how nothing ever happens
around here," said an eyewitness, when she noticed her carport sitting on
her neighbour's roof.

Mercury will put in its best showing for its dawn appearance the next few
days. Look low in the east about 40 minutes before sunrise for Venus, the
"morning star." Mercury is almost directly below Venus, but only a few
percent as bright, so you'll need to look carefully to see it.
