Today's Weather Trivia:
28 April 1955: Skies were mostly cloudy over Manitoba. Around 9 p.m. the
weather cleared and an intensely bright ball appeared: 15 cm in diameter
with a tail of light streaming behind. Winnipeg and Brandon newspapers and
radio stations received a torrent of calls. A West Kildonan resident said
the light was "pure white" and the missile looked like a skyrocket. It was
likely a meteorite.
