Today’s Weather Trivia:
31 December 2004: In Manitoba, a 3-day storm dumped 33 cm of snow on the Winnipeg Winter Club's Bubble, an indoor-soccer dome. It was enough to collapse its roof and cancel, postpone, or reschedule more than 82 games. Before it could be mended, the dome's fabric had to thaw, but for that to happen, the outside temperature needed to warm up to -15°C, which occurred only 3 days in January.– Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada
