Today’s Weather Trivia:
28 November 2006: Alberta's recent big chill led to 5 deaths, including 2 people found frozen solid, huddled by a spent propane heater in a converted school bus in Stony Plain. A postal worker who stumbled on a 3rd frozen body thought it was a mannequin until he saw the man's face. Calgary's homeless shelters cared for nearly 1,500 people. At Edmonton's Valley Zoo, animals had to be fed twice as much food. – Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada
