Today’s Weather Trivia:

1 October 2005: 2005: The World Half Marathon Championship was run in Edmonton, AB, in steady rain and 4°C. The weather was tough on all of the runners, especially those from Africa. The winner, from Tanzania, ran the 21-km race in 62 minutes, although he had never run in such weather. The women's winner, from Romania, had trained in similar conditions, unlike the runners-up from Netherlands and Kenya.– Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada
