30 September 1921:1921: Rain and wind struck southern Ontario and Québec. In Montreal, QC, a car blown onto a sidewalk injured several people, before smashing into a window. Rain, propelled by wind, rolled through streets like an incoming tide. Gutters choked and cellars flooded. Flying debris killed some horses and started fires after hitting electric wires. In Brockville, ON, the opera-house roof was blown off. – Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada
