Today’s Weather Trivia:
27 August 1973: Residents of Sudbury, ON, still living in fear of the "tornado" that killed 5 people 3 years ago, witnessed another severe summer storm passing near the city. Winds blew mightily and uprooted and flattened countless trees in its path. The storm also knocked the weather observer to the ground while he was taking the 11:00 PM observation. – Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada
