Today’s Weather Trivia:

April 23,2004: Winds close to 100 km/h toppled a Leduc, AB, landmark-a 99-year-old spruce tree that had been transplanted twice to make way for a strip mall. A crew with a crane replanted the tree just a day after they'd transplanted it from a private lot and just hours after winds ripped it up again. Unfortunately, the tree's chances of survival were greatly reduced by its being uprooted a second time.– Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada

Orion, the hunter, is bowing out of the evening sky. He's low in the west at nightfall, and his stars begin dropping from view not long afterward. The constellation will be all but lost from sight by the middle of May.
