Conditions in Liverpool,NS at 6:43:47 AM : 6.5°C | Overcast | Wind: SW 6 km/h

      Yesterday was a pretty good day with afternoon temps near +18°C.The only negative aspect was that the wind was a bit brisk and it was damp until the early evening.Temps in the evening were near +10°C and the wind died out,skies were clear.

Overnight it clouded up and some rain is on the way for today.It is beginning to show up on the radar now but there is no rain falling here yet.More clouds and rain are expected for the remainder of the week.

Today -- Increasing cloudiness. A few showers this morning then 40 percent chance of showers this afternoon. Fog along the coast late this afternoon. Wind becoming south 20 km/h near noon. High 7 except 12 inland. UV index 4 or moderate. 

Tonight -- Cloudy periods with 60 percent chance of drizzle. Fog. Wind south 20 km/h becoming light early this evening. Low plus 4. 

Thursday -- Fog dissipating in the morning then a mix of sun and cloud. Wind northwest 20 km/h becoming light late in the day. High 13. 

Friday -- Cloudy with 60 percent chance of showers. Low plus 3. High 11

 

  • Today’s Weather Trivia:

April 10,1898: Winds blew down a trestle bridge on the St. Mary's River near Crowsnest, AB. Strong southwesterlies shook the bridge as 14 workers put the final touches on the 20-m-high span; then, without warning, an extra-strong gust struck it end on and blew it over. Some of the men jumped 4 m to safety on the banks of the coulee, but others fell with the bridge, 16 m or more. Four men died.
