Nice

Aug 21,2008
Well the weatherman was right. It was quite warm here today and I saw 37°C on my backyard thermometer. It was also sunny and humid.
It’s a nice evening here with temps still at 20°C at 8PM and no wind.As the pic below shows, there’s hardly a cloud in the sky.
This weather pattern is supposed to stay with us for a few days.

Cooler

Aug 20,2008
We had a small amount of rain with a little thunder early last evening as cooler weather moved into the area.It was cool and breezy here today with the temps only in the low 20°C range and the air was dry…a great day to be working outside. The forecast is calling for warm, humid weather to be back by the weekend.
The sun is starting to dip below the tree line at around 7:45PM now.The west cam catches it quite well and is worth a look on a clear evening.
There aren’t any storms on the horizon here so that’s all I have for now.

Mid-August Monsoons

Recap: Aug 10 to 16.
Our weather has warmed back up but we have been having a fair bit of rain over the past week. Wednesday evening there was torrential rain along with some thunder and lightning. The temps started to rise into or above the normal range on Thursday and it has been quite humid.
There doesn’t appear to be any big storms on the way in the near future and some dryer weather should be in our area by the first of next week. There is a possibility of showers for mid-week.
TS Fay, currently in the Caribbean, is not expected to have any effect here. It is, however, expected to increase to hurricane strength before making landfall in western Florida on Tuesday.

Cooler....

Well it feels like summer is over here.We are already getting more autumn-like weather....lots of big cumulus clouds, cooler temps and lower humidity.Whether or not this will last through August is anyone's guess but the conditions stretch from
here and into the New England area of the US.
There is lots of unsettled weather to come and the tropics are once again getting active after a week of no events.
Currently there are two area in the Atlantic being watched and both may develop into depressions or storms.
There are no storms currently expected here for this week.Temps are expected to be in the low 20s with some rain possibly on Tuesday. The expected highs are in the normal range for us as determined by Enviroment Canada.

On another note,I have found a great desktop weather program that is FREE and offers lots of features. It needs a little tweaking after installing it but works great.Check it out HERE.

The first week of August

Last week was very hot and humid here up until Friday.Thursday was the most uncomfortable with temps reaching the low 40°Cs in the afternoon.Rain moved into the area on Friday with temps remaining warm but only reaching the mid 20s.
The showers and clouds are expected to remain in the area until mid-week.Temps have been staying quite steady, low 20s overnight to mid to upper 20s during the day. There was a brief break in the clouds yesterday and the temp shot up to the 30s quite quickly.
There are currently 3 areas being watched in the tropics.None have developed into the depressions at this point but possibly may over the next few days.
