Today's weather trivia: 12 February 1999: Organizers of the Canada Winter
Games in Corner Brook, NL, worried about the lack of snow with the opening
ceremony a week away. In a place known for its abundant snow, unseasonably
mild temperatures and heavy rains had washed it away. How desperate were the
organizers? At the Blow-Me-Down resort, where the biathlon and the
cross-country ski events were scheduled, they resorted to ¿snow dances.¿
