It was very stormy here yesterday with torrential rain and high winds.The
Western Head wx station recorded 79mm of rain and a wind gust at
61km/h.There was a brief period of thunder and lightning in the early
evening,as well.Unusual weather for this area in Dec.

More rain and mild temps today but it will clear this evening and we will
return to more normal conditions.



Today's Forecast: Today..Cloudy. 40 percent chance of showers this morning
and early

this afternoon. Fog patches dissipating this morning. Wind southwest

30 km/h gusting to 50 becoming northwest 20 gusting to 40 early this

morning. Temperature falling to 7 this afternoon.

Tonight..Clearing this evening. Wind northwest 20 km/h. Low minus 3.

Wednesday..Sunny. Wind northwest 20 km/h. High plus 3.





Marine Forecast: Gale warning in effect.

Wind southwest 25 to 35 knots diminishing to southwest 20 early this

morning then veering to northwest 15 to 20 early this evening. Wind

veering to north 10 to 15 overnight. Rain with a risk of

thunderstorms changing to chance of showers today. Fog patches

dissipating early this evening.







Today's weather trivia: 11 December


1927: A Winnipeg, MB, man was found dead, with a revolver in each frozen
hand, in the city's Elmwood Cemetery, near the grave of his wife. The
revolvers were so tightly grasped they could not be removed until his body
reached the morgue. Temperatures over the past week had been -33°C.
Following serious domestic trouble, officials had taken his 6 children from
him, prompting his suicide.
