Today's weather trivia: 20 November
1894: A boisterous storm toppled several chimneys and ripped shingles from
many roofs in downtown St. John's, NL. The Newfoundland News called for some
action to protect citizens. "In the interests of public safety it is about
time that some of the ruins on Duckworth Street and Water Street be looked
at. Bricks are useful, but when they take to flying they are objectionable."
