Today's Weather Trivia:
2005: High winds, intense rains, lightning strikes, and tornadoes tore
through southeastern Saskatchewan. At Stoughton, lightning struck an oil
tank and blew it 60 m into the air. At Melville, 100 mm of rain fell in 40
minutes, flooding streets and basements. Tornadoes near Maple Creek
destroyed homes and garages, damaged construction trailers and trucks, and
toppled a 120-m-tall crane.

Late spring and early summer are good times to look for Centaurus, the
mythological half-man, half-horse. His head and shoulders are visible from
most of the United States. They stand low in the south about 90 minutes
after sunset.
