Today’s Weather Trivia:
3 July 2008: Torrential rains couldn't stop the 400th anniversary ceremony to honour Samuel de Champlain, Quebec City's founder in 1608. A crowd gathered under umbrellas and ponchos for speeches. The mayor said it rained on this day in 1608. "I'm a great believer in historical authenticity, but it didn't need to go quite this far." – Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada
