Rainfall warning for
Queens County issued

This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected in these regions.
Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A winter storm is expected to develop over the U.S. Eastern Seaboard later
today and track northeastward passing near Southwestern Nova Scotia tomorrow
morning. This system will bring significant rain and/or snow along with
strong winds to Nova Scotia beginning tonight and continuing through
tomorrow morning.

Precipitation is expected to begin as rain over Southwestern Nova Scotia
this evening with amounts between 20 and 30 millimetres. The precipitation
will begin as snow in the rest of the province before changing over to rain.
Snowfall amounts of up to 25 centimetres are expected.

Wind warning for
Queens County continued

Wind gusts to 100 km/h are expected Wednesday afternoon and evening.

This is a warning that potentially damaging winds are expected in these
regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system over the Southeastern United States is forecast to
intensify into a major storm as it moves along the U.S. seaboard on
Wednesday. The center of the storm is forecast to move across New England
Wednesday night and into Eastern Quebec Thursday morning.

Precipitation ahead of this system will develop Wednesday morning.
Intermittent rain will spread across the province from west to east during
the morning and afternoon. Furthermore the rain will become heavy over
western sections of the province in the afternoon and along the rest of the
Atlantic coast in the evening. Rainfall amounts of 40 to 80 millimetres are
expected by Thursday morning.

In addition strong and gusty southeast winds will develop over the entire
province during later in the day on Wednesday. Southeasterly wind gusts from
100 to 140 km/h will also develop to the Lee of the Cape Breton Highlands
Wednesday afternoon and evening.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts in the event additional
warnings are required.
