Rainfall warning for
Queens County continued

Rainfall amounts of up to 100 millimetres by Friday evening.

This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected in these regions.
Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system north of the Great Lakes will move to lie over Hudson
Bay by Friday morning. A trough extending from the low will approach the
Maritimes tonight. As this trough approaches it will absorb moisture from
tropical storm Sean which will be in its dissipating stage well south of
Nova Scotia. Rainfall is expected to begin tonight and continue through
Friday. Rainfall amounts up to 100 millimetres are currently forecast for
mainland Nova Scotia with locally higher amounts possible along parts of the
Atlantic coast. Cape Breton is forecast to receive up to 40 millimetres of
rain by Friday evening. Southeast winds from this system are expected to
reach gusts of up to 80 km/h and up to 120 km/h from the Margaree Harbour to
Bay St Lawrence area of Cape Breton. A rainfall warning may be required for
Cape Breton with further rainfall amounts possible Friday night however
forecast amounts are currently under warning criteria.

The weather has been almost summer-like here the past couple of days with
temps reaching close to +20°C.
The mild weather is expected to stay with us until the weekend but some
precip is on the way for Thursday and Friday....possibly from the remnants
of T.S. Sean which will be passing south of us.

Quite mild here this morning for November.Had a very nice day yesterday with
temps reaching +15°C on my weather station.
Currently it is +6.8°,mostly overcast,wind is 2.4 km/h,humidity 88%.
Temps are expected to drop later today as rain moves in.....we may see some
wet snow overnight.

(the high was 13.1°C a few hours ago),the sky has some light overcast and

It appears that the worst of the storm is now over.Things were pretty wild
here this morning and most of the afternoon with some heavy rain,high winds
and flooding in the downtown area of Liverpool from the storm surge at high
tide.There were no reports of significant damage as far as I know and water
levels receded as the tide ebbed.
The max wind speed at my location was 45.2 km/h,temps were near +7°C for
most of the day.
Temps have now dropped to +2.2°C ,winds are gusty but max readings here on
my station are down to 17.1 km/h.

Storm surge warning for
Queens County continued

Elevated coastal water levels and pounding surf are expected tonight.

A low pressure system south of the Maritimes will continue to intensify this
afternoon. The storm will pass along the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia late
this afternoon and track towards Newfoundland tonight.

Further rainfall amounts of 25 to 50 millimeters can be expected by this
evening for most of Nova Scotia.

Winds are expected to strengthen throughout the day with coastal gusts
reaching 100 km/h. Easterly wind gusting to 130 km/h are expected to the Lee
of the Cape Breton Highlands.

In addition higher than normal water levels and pounding surf can be
expected along the Atlantic coast this afternoon. Elevated water levels
along the coastlines of Queens Lunenburg and Halifax counties will gradually
diminish early this afternoon. Elevated water levels are also expected
tonight along north facing coastlines of Pictou Antigonish counties
including St Georges bay and Cape Breton.
